arst is a geometric sans-serif typeface characterized by precise angles and contemporary shapes. Combining geometric clarity with subtle angular details, Karst achieves excellent readability through its high x-height, open letterforms, and minimal contrast between horizontal and vertical strokes. This makes Karst effective in both headlines and body text.
The typeface draws inspiration from Karst landscapes?natural geological formations known for their distinctive combination of smooth curves and sharp edges. This interplay of softness and angularity is clearly reflected in Karst?s design, notably through the sharply defined diagonal cuts and blunt endings in letters such as "A," "Y," "K," "M," and "V." The horizontal bars in lowercase letters like "e" and "a" also feature angled terminals, contributing a subtle visual uniqueness.
Karst offers a comprehensive family of 18 styles, comprising nine weights from Thin to Black, each with matching italics.
